Fall Colour Trends 2022
Fall 2022 is full of new colours to make you a star this year.
A lot of colours for this Fall seem to be inspired by nature, with many designers opting for earth tones like green, yellow, and orange. That being said, don’t be surprised to see some pops of colour here and there (we’re looking at you, Bottega Veneta).
Bold colours are also definitely in for Fall 2022. We're seeing a lot of jewel tones like emerald green, sapphire blue, and ruby red. These colours are perfect for creating a dramatic look that will turn heads. If you're not into wearing head-to-toe colour, try pairing a bold colour with neutrals like black, white, or gray.
Here's our list of favourite colours featured on the runways for Fall 2022:
Cardamon Seed - Green
I'm going to start with a colour in the middle of warm/cool and that is green. It depends on the tint of the garment. For instance, if it's yellowish (warmer), it will be more like green grass, while if it's cooler, it will be more like the ocean. The colour that we saw on the runways and loved was Cardamon Seed, which is an olive green with a slightly muted tone. It's on the warmer side so it can be used with a lot of different styles. We also have some combinations of this with orange and pink, which is what we see when talking about colour trends. It's very easy to find a colour that's close to the one that you're looking for. However, the trend can also be interpreted by the pairing of the different colours. This is why I like to check out the details of the designers' creations.
Samoan Sun & Spicy Mustard - Yellows
Next we have yellows, two of the main trend colours that we saw this season. One of these was featured during London Fashion Week, while the other was showcased during New York Fashion Week. The brighter one was referred to as Samoan Sun, while the more exotic one was called spicy mustard. This colour is commonly seen on the runways in various ways, such as in combination with other colours or in full outfits. It can also be used as a blocking colour. We can see it mixed with colours such as baby blue, at Rick Owens' shows. The accessories and patterns that the designers created featured vibrant and complementary colours. This combination makes a powerful statement.
Tiger Orange
Tiger Orange, which is characterized by their high-versus-low tone and vibrant energy. We also have a lot of actresses who are known to wear this colour combination with blue. Rick Owens is known for his use of this colour, and it's no surprise that it's one of the most prominent colours for fall.
Reds
Reds are the colors that will never go out of style, and I believe that this is the reason why we have a lot of false and passionate orange reds that are commonly seen on the runways. They're also characterized by their intense and fiery tone. We often take a monochromatic look, which is usually paired with a neutral or even grey.
